BERLIN–Mid-Atlantic Health Care, LLC has recognized Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a 2013 recipient of the American Health Care Association’s Bronze – Commitment to Quality award for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through improved quality care.
Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was one of five facilities to receive the Bronze level award in Maryland and the only skilled nursing facility to receive the Bronze level award on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
“In an age of changing health care, Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has remained committed to prioritizing quality care above all else,” said Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “This facility is an example of the great things that can be accomplished when we commit to person-centered care.”
Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals.

The staff works hard every day to care for many residents of the Berlin community, no matter if the resident is with us for days, months or years,” said Don Boger, Ocean Pines resident and administrator for Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. “Being an AHCA/NCAL Bronze recipient just shows how we are dedicated to our community.”
