(March 11, 2021) Following the departure of Director of Amenities and Operational Logistics Colby Phillips last month, the Ocean Pines Association has realigned its organizational chart to reassign her previous duties to various department heads.
The changes include handing oversight of parking at the Ocean Pines Beach Club to Aquatics Director Kathleen Cook, who will report directly to General Manager John Viola.
Recreation and Parks Director Debbie Donahue will gain responsibility for racquet sports, along with marinas and normal departmental duties.
Racquet Sports Manager and Tennis Pro Terry Underkoffler and Racquet Sports Program Coordinator Tim McMullen will now report directly to Donahue.
Public Works Director Eddie Wells and Public Works Manager Nobie Violante will take the reins on the Bainbridge Pond drainage project.
The duo, who were already key team members for the Bainbridge project, will add oversight and coordination roles of the infrastructure improvements to their regular Public Works Department duties.
Director of Finance Steve Phillips is assuming the lead position in strategic planning efforts and will report directly to Viola.
Public Works Office Manager Linda Martin and Marketing Coordinator Julie Malinowski have been designated as “Level 1” responders for customer service issues.
Additionally, department heads are now classified as “Level 2” responders with Viola established as a “Level 3” responder.
Viola said the restructuring was completed after reviewing the association’s budget and assessing the abilities of current staff.
“I have the utmost confidence in our team,” he said.
Viola highlighted past efforts to cross-train staff as crucial to reassigning Phillips’ past duties.
Viola said there are no immediate plans to hire a replacement for Phillips’ position.
“I don’t anticipate it,” he said.
