(Oct. 1, 2021) During a special meeting on Thursday the Ocean Pines Board voted 4-3 to re-stage the 2021 election to include three candidates, incumbent Frank Daly, Stuart Lakernick and David Hardy.

Voting in favor were Directors Daly, Larry Perrone, Colette Horn and Frank Brown. Opposing the measure were Directors Tom Janasek, Doug Parks and Camilla Rogers.

The split-vote decision creates a new ballot without including Rick Farr, who is currently suing the association in Worcester Circuit Court after initially being deemed eligible but later disqualified to run for office.

The election “re-do,” motion was the second of three voted on during the special meeting, including an initial unanimous decision to rescind an earlier standing motion to count ballots passed on July 30 and amended on Sept. 9.

Following the 4-3 passage of the new election motion proposed by Perrone, the board split 3-3 on a motion from Parks to hold an official ballot count including all four candidates, with all votes deemed invalid.

Parks argued that based on motion passage for a new election the ballot count would serve principally for informational purposes.

Unlike the first two motions, Daly abstained from the third vote that failed to pass due to being tied.

At the conclusion of the meeting Rogers announced her resignation from the board, with a special meeting subsequently scheduled for Oct. 11 to consider replacement candidates.
