William B. Todd Sr., age 88, passed away on April 25, 2026, in Salisbury, Maryland. Born in Washington, D.C. on January 31, 1938, he was the son of the late Claude Milton Todd and Gladys Mae (Maples) Todd.

Bill was the co-owner with his wife Sarah of Ocean City Service Co., Ocean City Service Oil Co., and Ocean City Supply Company in West Ocean City.  Bill dedicated over 40 years to the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company. Throughout his career as a firefighter, he severed in numerous leadership roles including Captain, Engineer, and as a member of the board of Directors, where he held the position of Vice president.  Bill was a true patriarch of a volunteer fire service family, his sense of service before self is something he instilled in generations to come. His son Mike Todd is a life member, and his grandson Michael Todd currently serves as the 2nd Assistant Chief of The Ocean city Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sarah Frances Todd.

William is survived by his children – William Todd Jr. and Harry “Mike” Todd (Jackie); his grandchildren – William “Billy” Todd III, Sarah Pulley (Wesley), Ian Todd (Jessica), Bridget Todd, Michael Thomas Todd (Gionna), and Amanda Lockwood; and his great grandchildren – Vance William Todd, Carter Pulley, and Ava Pulley.

Cremation followed his passing. No formal services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company, 1409 Philadelphia Ave, Ocean City, MD, 21842 or the Worcester County Humane Society.
