Gabriel “Gabe” Preston Litten, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 25 at the age of 55.

Born on February 16, 1971, Gabe was known for his strong work ethic, his devotion to family, and his deep love for his grandchildren, who were truly the light of his life.

Gabe is survived by his wife of nearly 27 years, Theresa “Tina” Litten. His children: Rebecca Repsher and her husband Charlie of Berlin, Jenna Goodspeed and her husband Cody of Berlin, Nina Dryden of Crisfield, and Jared Litten and his wife Kyndall of Pocomoke. Gabe’s beloved grandchildren include Brayten Bradley, Brody Bradley, Dominic Kulp, Jaylynn Goodspeed, Brinlee Bradley, Lucas Goodspeed, Arianna Goodspeed, Elianna Goodspeed, Charlotte Repsher, Chase Repsher, and Maverick Litten. Gabe had a deep love for his dogs, who were constant companions to him and brought him comfort, loyalty, and joy.

He is also survived by his mother, Linda Litten, and his father, George Michael “Mike” Litten, as well as his siblings: Charity Merryman, Daniel Litten, George Litten, Sarah Litten, and Rebecca Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margaret and George Litten, and Violet and Omar Turner.

Gabe graduated from Crisfield High School, class of 1989. Gabe worked for Steamfitter Local 602/M&M Welding & Fabricators Inc., in Gaithersburg, Maryland, as a skilled steamfitter for fifteen years before becoming disabled in 2006. Following that transition, he continued to work with his hands and stayed active by starting a small landscaping business, which reflected his determination, work ethic, strength, and resilience.

Gabe will be remembered for his love of family, his hardworking nature, and the lasting memories he created with those closest to him. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 5 at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and service will immediately follow.
