(July 23, 2026) In recognition of almost five decades of service to the community, the Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is throwing a celebratory bash next week jam-packed with raffles for summer-oriented items, food trucks, craft vendors, and more.

On Friday, July 31, the Berlin Nursing and Rehab facility is hosting an anniversary festival to celebrate the center’s 46 years in operation. The event is open to the public and will kick off at noon and wrap up around 4 p.m.

Barbara Franklin, Berlin Nursing’s assistant business office manager, who is helping plan the party, said that 94.5 KHI will broadcast the event live on location with MC Bill Baker and DJ KP.

Furthermore, Berlin Mayor Zack Tyndall will be making a guest appearance as a speaker.

“It’s a huge milestone,” Franklin said. “It’s 46 years in our community, and we just want people to be aware of us and to know we’re here for them for their needs. We have short-term care and long-term care. We have rehab. We have a lot to offer.”

Those who come out to celebrate on July 31 will be met with music, various food options, an array of craft and entertainment vendors, and a prize draw for desirable seasonal items.

 For instance, attendees will get the chance to win prizes through 50/50 raffles. Franklin said the available products include a cooler filled with drinks and pickleball equipment, a large metal pot for seafood steaming with mallets, towels, and seasonings, and a bucket with beach essentials.

Franklin added that event planners have also secured fishing rods and gift cards for a kids-focused raffle.

Food trucks like The Street Kitchen will be onsite, and Berlin Nursing and Rehab will be offering their own hot dogs, sodas, chips, and waters.

According to Franklin, additional vendors include crafts sellers, Fisher’s Popcorn, and a snowball and ice cream operation. A local organization will also be pulling up with an assortment of classic cars for hotrod enthusiasts.

The Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is located at 9715 Healthway Drive, near TidalHealth Atlantic. According to the facility’s website, it offers a large catalogue of services, including 24-hour nursing care, long-term and short-term care, pulmonary rehabilitation, comprehensive wound care, respite care, hospice care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy, and rehabilitation care.

Center staff hope community members come out to celebrate the nursing and rehabilitation home, in recognition of the vital amenities it has provided the county’s most vulnerable citizens for the past 46 years.

“Here in our Worcester County area, there’s maybe only one other long-term care facility,” Franklin said. “And we’re centrally located. We’re right off Route 113. That’s easy access. The hospital is right behind us. So, if there was ever an emergency, we’re very close to a hospital to get someone in for immediate medical treatment if needed.”
