(Oct. 22, 2026) Berlin is inviting families to celebrate Halloween with a Truck-N-Treat event and a monthlong scavenger hunt in the downtown area.

The town’s Truck-N-Treat will take place Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stephen Decatur Park.

The free event will give children an up-close look at some of the vehicles used to serve the community, including fire trucks, garbage trucks, and utility trucks.

Children are invited to dress in Halloween costumes and collect treats while exploring the vehicles and learning more about the equipment used by town crews and emergency personnel.

The event offers a family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween while introducing younger residents to some of the services that help keep Berlin running.

In addition to Truck-N-Treat, the Berlin Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt is taking place throughout October, giving residents and visitors another way to explore downtown.

Participants can pick up an answer sheet in the foyer of the Berlin Welcome Center, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

After obtaining a sheet, participants can walk around downtown Berlin to find the answers to the scavenger hunt questions. Completed answer sheets should be returned to the drop box at the Welcome Center.

A winner will be selected at random on Monday, Nov. 2. The prize is a $100 gift card to the downtown business of the winner’s choice.

The scavenger hunt encourages participants to explore Berlin’s downtown businesses and attractions while taking part in a seasonal activity.

Both events offer opportunities for families to enjoy Halloween festivities and experience the community during the fall season.
