SALISBURY – Temporary lane and road closures for removal of steel beams from the Route 13 Business (Salisbury Boulevard) bridge over Route 50 Business (Ocean Gateway) in Salisbury.
Route 50 Business will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the bridge, with occasional short-duration (15-minute) closures of all lanes throughout the night Wednesday, March 16, beginning at 7 p.m. and continuing through 6 a.m. Thursday morning, weather permitting.
This beam removal is part of the third and final phase of a $5 million bridge rehabilitation that includes elevation of the south end to provide greater clearance for truck traffic on Route 50 Business, construction of a new bridge deck, sidewalks and safety barriers and repaving of the bridge approaches.
SHA expects to complete the project this summer, weather permitting. For more project information, visit roads.maryland.gov or follow SHA on Twitter @MDSHA.
