BERLIN – Earl Gray Davis, age 88, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Atlantic General Hospital. Born in Berlin he was the son of the late John K. and Fronie Gray Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Owens Davis in 1987.
Mr. Davis was a graduate of the University of Baltimore. He had worked as a data processing manager for the State of Maryland in the Motor Vehicle Administration.
He was a United States Marine veteran of WWII, member of the Sons of the American Revolution, member of the John Snoot Society, Boggs-Disharoon American Legion Post 123 in Berlin, and an avid fisherman and Republican.
He is survived by his son Timothy Owens Davis and his wife Candace of Nottingham; five step-grandchildren and 24 step-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Harold L. Davis and his wife Nancy of Ellicott City; and five nieces.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 31, at noon at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Donations may be made to Atlantic General Hospital, 9733 Healthway Dr., Berlin, MD 21811.
