(May 23, 2019) Assateague Coastal Trust was permitted to use Berlin Falls Park for an educational activity last Saturday, following unanimous approval from the town’s mayor and council at the beginning of the week.
Verena Chase, “Coast Kids” director for Assateague Coastal Trust, said the organization planned to use the space for a “Frog Calls” program at the park off Old Ocean City Boulevard.
Coast Kids is an educational program designed to introduce children to nature, which is what “Frog Calls” intended to do. Chase said she planned to take about 12 children ranging in age 3 to 13 years old on a walk in the park to listen to the peep- ing and croaking and then attempt to identify the species.
