OCEAN PINES–Have you ever
dreamed of being an actor? Pretend being on stage? Ever wondered if you have
" the right stuff" to perform? If so, we want you.
The Ocean Pines Players,
your community theater, welcomes rookie and experienced actors to audition for
our spring production of "The Psychic," by acclaimed playwright and
screen writer Sam Bobrick. It is the comic story of a struggling mystery writer
who decides to make money by pretending to be a psychic, only to find that his
predictions about betrayals and murders keep coming true.
All roles are available.
Even if you don’t see yourself as one of the characters below, we would be
happy to let you read anyway, so we can consider you for future productions.
Roles include:
–Adam Webster, a mystery
writer who moonlights as a psychic (ages 30–45)
–Laura Benson, an attractive
woman and client of Adam’s (ages 30–45)
–Roy Benson, Laura’s husband
(ages 30–45)
–Rita Malone, a young,
streetwise, sexy woman who is dating Roy (ages 20–35)
–Johnny Bubbles, a
good-hearted gangster (ages 30–45)
–Norris Coslow, a New York
detective with a love of literature (ages 40–65)
Auditions consist of
readings from the script. No memorization necessary. We also do not need head
shots or resumes, but you are welcome to bring them. All necessary audition
material is available at www.opplayers.org. Come prepared to list potential
time conflicts.
The audition date is Friday, Nov. 15, from 4-9:30 p.m. in the
Assateague Room of the Ocean Pines Community Center, 235 Ocean Parkway, Ocean
Pines. Performance dates are March 13-16.
