(Sept. 28, 2017) Gathering community support – following a near-fatal car accident on Aug. 9 involving Ocean Pines resident Kim Poole – is the focus of the “Poolin’ It Together For Kim” benefit this Sunday at The Globe in Berlin from 3-6 p.m.
Marla Robertson, of 98.1 WOCM Irie Radio, has organized the benefit for her longtime friend.
The cost of admission is $10, which includes a chance at winning numerous door prizes. Two members of Full Circle band, Kathy Denk and Michelle Schachter, will perform. There will also be a Chinese auction and The Globe will donate a percentage of food and drink sales to the fundraiser.
Following the accident in Snow Hill, Poole’s relatives began sharing updates on her condition on the website CaringBridge. Since 2002 the nonprofit website has provided a forum to rally support for those facing health challenges.
In a blog post on Monday, Poole shared her excitement about finally returning home on Tuesday.
“It’s been quite the journey and I am so ready,” she said. “I still have a very long way to go but the most difficult part is behind me now.”
Poole will be accompanied home by her sons, Conner and Chris.
