Berlin Chamber Installation Dinner Wednesday, Jan. 20

The Berlin Chamber of Commerce will induct its new president and preview the coming year during an installation dinner at Touch of Italy on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Reece Cropper, insurance broker and founder of the chamber, will speak, and awards for “New Business of the Year,” “Volunteer of the Year,” “Business Philanthropy “and “Bright Idea” will be announced during the annual function.
Donna Compher, named president-elect last year, will officially take over for current president Natalee DeHart.
Executive Director Larnet St. Amant and Administrative Assistant Morgan Coulson oversee day-to-day operations at the chamber.
“It has been an exciting year of growth and change, and we have been fortunate to have two dedicated staff members that have helped us to get to this point,” DeHart said. “I am looking forward for all that is to come in 2016, with our positive momentum.”
She added that a growing board of directors could also help the chamber during the new year.
“We’ve had an immensely supportive board of directors and are very excited for Donna Compher to become president,” Coulson said. “She’s been such an integral part of what we do here and we look forward to what her new leadership will bring.”
Coulson added that the chamber was already gearing up for the 2016 slate of events, which includes Spring Celebration on April 9, the Jazz and Blues Bash on June 4, the Bathtub Races on July 15 and the Fiddler’s Convention Sept. 23-25.
Amant promised “new and exciting” things in the coming year, including several seminars and a re-invigorated business after-hours series.
“We’re ready for a good year,” Amant said. “Morgan and I have it dialed in.”
Tickets for the event are $43 each and include one alcoholic beverage and “Nonna’s Sunday Dinner,” a longtime tradition at Flavors of Italy consisting of an Italian salad, a meat-heavy traditional pasta dish and dessert.
A vegetarian option is available, and a cash bar will be provided. Space is limited to 75 people, and the event runs from 6-9 p.m.
“It’s a great way for everybody from the community and the Berlin Chamber to be together and enjoy some time to socialize and network and have fun,” Amant said.
Touch of Italy is located on 67th Street in the Holiday Inn, in Ocean City.
