BERLIN—Want a second chance to reverse a prom nightmare? The Arts and Entertainment Committee may have just the right opportunity, by adding an adult prom as part of the features of the Second Friday Art Stroll on Feb. 14, from 7-10 p.m., at Zenna Wellness Studio.
For the second of the winter months the Berlin business community has again decided to consolidate its Second Friday events into one venue. First of all it’s warmer that way; second it allows the businesses that want to take a break from the off-season festivities.
The 1980’s inspired theme party is for singles and couples 21 and older, a perfect feature to add a unique touch to a Valentine’s Day date night. Austin “A.Dubs” Widdowson will DJ the town-sized event and attendees will be able to try their creativity with various arts and crafts projects. There will also be an opportunity to get prom photos taken at the photo booth.
Don’t forget the corsage. There will be an award for the best handmade accessory.
The event is free, but a $5 donation is suggested. Food will be donated by the newly reopened Waterman’s Seafood at 12505 Ocean Gateway in West Ocean City.
Around the corner, Baked Dessert Café and Gallery will be offering a delicious array of yummy goodies to satisfy the sweet tooth. The featured artists will be painter Diane Richmond and illustrator Greg Morehead. Light refreshments, including wine samples and hors devours, will also be provided.
Like any good prom, there will be an after-party of course. On this occasion it will take place at Burley Oak Brewery and will feature the oil paintings and prints of Lindsay Richardson for February. The art stroll portion of the festivities begins at 6 p.m. Then at 9 p.m., Bad since Breakfast will perform a variety genres until midnight.
For those who want to make a weekend of it, the Atlantic Hotel will offer a Valentine weekend of gastronomical dinner delights at the Drummer’s Cafe, romantic one-, two- and three-night guest packages, complete with champagne and chocolate.
