OCEAN CITY — Bertha B. Brittingham, age 83, died Saturday, Oct. 1. Born in Ocean City she was the daughter of the late Harry B. Birch and Laura Davis Birch. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter L. Brittingham.
Brittingham had worked for Acme Market as a cashier and baker for many years. She was a member of Atlantic United Methodist Church and Martha’s Circle in Ocean City and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidering, crocheting and cooking. Most of all she loved her family and her church family.
She is survived by a daughter, Elmira B. Swain; a sister, Verla Hammond; two grandchildren, Brian Swain and his wife Charity and Keith Swain and his wife Belinda; one great granddaughter and two great grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Birch, Burton Birch, and Walter Birch; sisters, Louise Smack and Frances Satchell.
