BERLIN — Bobby Boyd Gobbett, age 79, died Tuesday, July 5 at Atlantic General Hospital. Born in Washington, DC he was the son of the late James W. Gobbett and Alice King Gobbett.  He is survived by his wife Janet E. Gobbett.

Gobbett was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the VFW Post #166.  He worked for the federal government as an Officer of Transportation and also for the Town of Ocean City for 15 years.  

Along with his wife he is survived by a step-son, Gary Lee James and his wife Maureen; a daughter, Gail Corley and her husband Wayne; four grandchildren, Kimberly and her husband Dan, Kelly and her husband Bryan, Shannon and Michael; four great grandchildren, Amber, Jacob, Tyler and Timothy. He was preceded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters and two grandsons, Kevin James and Kevin Corley. 

Services and Interment will be private at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1138 Parsons Rd., Salisbury, MD 21801.  Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
