Brown Box Theatre Project of Boston comes to Snow Hill

SNOW HILL– Arts on the
River First Friday in Snow Hill welcomes the Brown Box Theatre Project of
Boston on Sept. 6, for the opening of the
Eastern Shore series. For this
performance in Sturgis Park by the Pocomoke River, the Brown Box
Theatre presents a magical interpretation of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer
Night’s Dream” as its third annual Free Shakespeare.

Bring a beach chair or
blanket and journey with them into the forest to explore the mysticism of happiness
as the lovers and mechanicals of Athens stumble into the kingdom of feuding
fairies and mischievous sprites.  The
staging for the performance is under the stars along the riverfront.

Marking the third annual
Free Shakespeare at the Beach, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be their
largest production to date. Including two weekends of performances in the
Boston area, followed by three weeks of tours all over Maryland and
Delaware, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will provide free access to
Shakespeare’s most beloved comedy to audiences of all ages. Performance begins
at 7 p.m. The covered pavilion at Sturgis Park
makes this a “rain or shine” event.

First Fridays are sponsored
by Arts on the River, Snow Hill’s Art
and Entertainment District, the Worcester
County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council. For more information,
call 410-632 2080.
