(Dec. 11, 2014) Capital Ringers, the community hand bell ensemble that rings six octaves (73 bells) of Schulmerich hand bells and five and a half octaves (67 chimes) of Malmark hand chimes, will perform Saturday at the Community Church at Ocean Pines, 11227 Racetrack Road starting at 7 p.m.
Employing the largest set of hand bells on the Delmarva Peninsula, The Capital Ringer’s will present its “Traditions” concert.
Artistic Director Linda Simms established Capital Ringers in 2004 to provide a ringing experience to advanced ringers and to demonstrate to audiences the versatility of hand bells.
The ensemble has performed across the peninsula in churches, theaters and schools, and has collaborated with the Delaware Chorale Society, the Queen Anne’s Chorale, Wilmington Hand Bell Ensemble and the First State Dance Academy.
It also has performed at the City of Dover Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, the Delaware Governor’s Prayer Breakfast, Olde Dover Days, and the In Harmony Concert Series at the Schwartz Center in Dover.
The 2014 Christmas Tour, “Traditions” features Christmas favorites, including “Wizards in Winter,” “Let it Go” (from the movie “Frozen”), “O Holy Night” and a special guest character will join the ringing ensemble to inspire audiences with a celebration of Christmas traditions.
