BERLIN—The Worcester County Technical Review Commission on Oct. 9 approved a proposal by the Farmers Bank of Willards to construct a new 2,192 square foot banking location at Route 589 (Racetrack Road) and Gray’s Corner Road, just off of Route 50. Worcester County Zoning Administrator Jennifer Burke explained the site plan was actually a re-proposal of a plan approval that had lapsed in June, 2010.
According to its Web site, “The Farmers Bank remains under the same local ownership as when it opened its doors in 1925 in Willards.”
Bank representatives said the entity had grown to eight branches in Wicomico and Worcester counties over the years and has remained independent. “We have not become a mega bank,” they said on the company’s Web site.
Other branches of the Farmers Bank of Willards in Worcester County include White Marlin Mall, at 12641 Ocean Gateway in West Ocean City, and Montego Bay Shopping Center, at 12831 Coastal Highway, in north Ocean City.
