Community Foundation board members announced

SALISBURY–The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore welcomes new members to its board of directors following a formal announcement at the Foundation’s annual meeting Nov.1, at The Fountains Conference Center in Salisbury.
The new board members elected to serve a three-year term include:
Andrew Kim is a certified public account and the Principal for Kim & Associates, Public accountants. He graduated from Salisbury University with a Business Administration-Accounting degree.  
Actively involved in the community, Kim is a member of the Greater Salisbury Committee, a member of the HOPE Board, serves on the Wor-Wic Community College Advisory Committee, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.  
He has received the National Association of Accountants Award, the Phi Kappa Phi Achievement Award, is a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, and has received the Salisbury Rotary Club Award. He resides in Salisbury with his wife Lois and two children who are attending college.  
Greg Tawes is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Salisbury University with a Business Administration degree.  He is the current Market President for BB&T Bank on the Eastern Shore.  In that role he is responsible for the bank’s overall market share and community outreach. He serves as a current board member and immediate past president of the Life Crisis Center, a Foundation board member for PRMC, a Community board member for AGH, and is a board member elect for the Perdue School of Business Strategic Planning Committee. He resides in Berlin with his wife and two children.   
 “The Community Foundation has had the benefit of a strong and active Board of Directors throughout its 29 year history,” said Don Taylor, CFES Board Chair.  “We look forward to the participation of Andrew and Greg, both outstanding community leaders, in carrying out the work of the Foundation.”   
Since 1984, the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore has been serving the needs of Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties granting more than $30 million.  
Through the generosity and vision of our donors, CFES awarded grants totaling more than $5.4 million in fiscal year 2013. CFES brings together donors and builds on community assets through scholarships, grants, advocacy and leadership development.  
By focusing on people, organizations, neighborhoods, and nonprofit capacity building, the foundation addresses community needs in the areas of health, education, arts and culture, community development and the environment.
