David Paul Chambers

OCEAN CITY — David Paul Chambers, age 92, died Tuesday, March 27, at Berlin Nursing Home.  Born in Gastonia, N.C., he was the son of the late John R. Chambers and Jane Lumley Chambers.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marion Elizabeth Hayward Chambers. 

Chambers was a Unites States Army Veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific Theater.  He had worked as a manger of Sanitary Laundry in Charlotte, N.C. and as a bridge tender with the State Roads Commission for the State of Maryland for 27 years. He tended the Harry W. Kelley Memorial Bridge on Rt. 50 entering Ocean City.  

Along with his wife he is survived by his son, Paul Gordon Chambers, Sr.; two grandchildren, Paul G. Chambers, Jr. and his wife Rachel and Jennifer Paige Chambers; a sister Minnie Reid Hamilton; one niece, Dawn Murchison; a brother, Stover Hill Chambers; and one nephew, Dan Chambers. He was preceded in death by a son Keith Dale Chambers in 2006.
