(May 4, 2017) Family Fun Night will return to the Oasis pool in Ocean Pines on Wednesday evenings.
The Ocean Pines Association Board voted unanimously on Saturday to return the event, which will be held from 6-8 p.m. The pool, previously called the yacht club pool, will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday to give organizers an hour to prepare.
A Twilight Swim will also be added to the pool schedule, Mondays from 5-8 p.m. The Oasis pool will simply remain open longer on those nights.
Interim General Manager Brett Hill said the events would “help promote sales at the restaurant on two of the three slowest nights of the week.”
In a related move, Board Vice President Dave Stevens introduced for first reading an amendment to Resolution M-02, governing amenity policy.
Stevens added the following language under 12.g. “The established use for an amenity (e.g., the adults-only pool) shall not be changed without the explicit approval of a majority of the Board of Directors.”
No vote was held and Stevens said he planned to introduce the amendment for a second reading during a future board meeting.
Other directors said many more changes were needed in M-02 and recommended the bylaws and resolutions committee look into the matter, potentially with the help of other board-appointed advisory panels assigned to the different amenities.
