OCEAN PINES — Gail Arlene Brown, age 62, died Friday, May 20 at her home. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Albert William Styles and Thelma Jeanette Styles (nee Zennell). She is survived by her loving husband Dexter Brown, Jr. and son Ryan William Bavis and his wife Gillian of Lewiston, Maine and daughters Christina Kay Wilcox and her husband Jeffrey of Hunt Valley, Gretchen Elizabeth Martin and her husband Jason of Fallbrook, Calif. and Suzanne Marie Snyder and her husband Jeffery of Jessup. There are nine grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Karen Dukes and her husband Joseph of Long Neck, DE and several nieces and nephews.

After 25 years as a secretary in Howard County schools, Brown retired to Ocean Pines in 2004. She was a part-time resident of Ocean Pines since 1995. She was a member of the Ocean Pines Lions where she had served as secretary. She was a volunteer with the Believe in Tomorrow Children’s House by the Sea, a volunteer at Ocean Pines Catered Living, a past member of the Ocean Pines Women’s Club, and a past member of the 18th Hole Ocean Pines Women’s Golf Association.

A funeral service will be held on 1 p.m. today at the Community Church of Ocean Pines. Rev. Linda Jacobus and Rev. Dr. Thomas McKelvey will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
