The Berlin Historic District Commission unanimously approved the proposed sign for Harvest Guitar Shop, an instrument store on South Main Street behind the Berlin Welcome Center, during its meeting on Sept. 2.

(Sept. 10, 2020) The Berlin Historic District Commission voted unanimously last Wednesday to approve the proposed sign for Harvest Guitar Shop, a new business located at 16 S. Main Street #E.

The sign is a composite material identical to the sandwich board sign currently on the sidewalk out front of the business, said town Planning Director Dave Engelhart.

Harvest Guitar Shop is a family-owned musical instrument store, featuring custom handmade guitars. Each guitar is made from locally sourced old growth wood.

Harvest Guitar Shop, which opened in downtown Berlin in August, also provides repairs and luthier services.

According to its Facebook page, the shop sells strings, straps, accessories, boutique pedals, and used tube amps as well.

During the 2nd Friday festivities on Sept. 11, Harvest Guitar Shop is hosting a grand opening party at the Berlin Welcome Center parking lot from 6-8 p.m.
