James “Jim” F. Watts

BERLIN — James “Jim” F. Watts, age 89, died September 28, 2011 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. He is survived by his wife Evangeline Dyson Watts of Ocean City and formerly of Baltimore, daughters, Sandy VanWestenberg, and her husband Mike of Fairfield, Pa., and Beverly Dearing and her husband John of Fruitland, a step daughter Allison Jubber and her husband Eugene of Willards, stepson David Bennett and his wife Betty of Great Mills, and step son Thomas Bennett and his wife Alicia of Mechanicsville.

He was a loving grandfather of three granddaughters, two step-granddaughters, three step-grandsons, and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a step-grandson. He is also survived by three sisters and 1 brother.

Jim served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was awarded two keys to the city by the mayors of Ocean City. He was also awarded “Citizen of the Year” by the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Kids Line, the Ocean City Shrine, the Paramedics Foundation, and the Foundation Board of Directors of Atlantic General Hospital.
