James Richard Kyger

SNOW HILL — James Richard Kyger, Sr., age 69, died Tuesday, July 26 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Texas he was the son of Onie Shiflett of Shrewsbury, Pa. and the late William “Bill” Kyger.

Kyger was the owner and operator of Kygers Caulking Co. in Snow Hill. He was an avid outdoors enthusiast where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and all things nature.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his sons, James Richard Kyger, Jr. and his wife Alyce of Ocean City, Kenneth Allen Kyger and his wife Wendy of Edgewood, Eric Wesley Kyger and his wife Suzanne of Snow Hill; daughters, Jeanne Renee Stevenson of Frankford, Del. and Tracy Ann Armesto and her husband Miguel of Middletown, Del.  

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Kyger. He is also survived by a brother, William H. Kyger “Bill” and his wife Brenda of Baltimore; sisters, Bernice L. Kyger-Stone of Robinsville, N.C., Delores R. “Lois” Kyger-Simms and her husband Louis of Joppa, Barbara J. Kyger-Peterson of Luthersville, Ga. and Carolyn M. Kyger-Swiger of West Union, W.V.; 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 30, 2011at the Burbage Funeral Home in Snow Hill. Donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited, bpaysinger@ducks.org or call (901) 758-3841.
