BERLIN — Jeanette Wyatt Daye passed away on June 15, at Atlantic General Hospital. Born in Selbyville, she was the daughter of the late George H. Wyatt and Millie Mariner Wyatt.

She is survived by her sister, Grace Anne Phippin, and her husband, Tommy, of Berlin and a brother, John Jeffrey Wyatt, and his wife, Linda, of Snow Hill. She leaves nieces Emma K. Kibler, Melissa Timmons, Christine Wyatt and Tisha Riley and nephews Randolph Molnar, Christopher Phippin and James L. Wyatt and several great-nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Lee Wyatt.

Daye worked for Millville Lumber in Snow Hill for many years. Her passion in life was for the veterans that fought for our country. She held them in the highest regard.

She was a member of the Powellville VFW #2996 Women’s Auxiliary for 30 years, holding the office of president for a time and a member of the Berlin American Legion Post # 123 for 33 years. 

She was past post district secretary for the American Legion, Southeast District. She initiated a yearly visit to the Veterans Hospital at Perry Point. The veterans were taken gifts of clothes, toiletries and many other things that were needed. They often stayed to play Bingo with the veterans.

She was past member of the Berlin/Ocean City Women of the Moose Lodge in Berlin. She received the College of Regents Academy of Friendship and Star Recorder Degrees.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 21 at the Burbage Funeral Home. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery in Willards. Donations in her memory may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxillary Post 2996, P.O. Box 51, Powellville, MD 21852.
