Joshua (Josh) Reptsik, 48, of Berlin, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends on Sept. 16, 2026.

A resilient fighter to the end, he bravely battled cancer multiple times over the past 26 years before it ultimately claimed his life.

Born on Nov. 11, 1977, in Lansdale, Pa., Josh graduated from Southwestern High School in Hanover, PA. He moved to Ocean City, where he developed a lifelong love for living by the ocean. After many years working in restaurants, Josh transitioned careers, returning to Pennsylvania to work at a brewery. During the pandemic, an opportunity arose to return to Maryland, and he eagerly embraced the chance to live near the beach once more.

Josh was endlessly creative. His friends and family were the grateful recipients of his culinary talents, with a wealth of recipes perfected over the years. His many hobbies also included fishing, playing guitar, movies, woodworking, and restoring vintage Volvos. Those who knew Josh will remember him as a truly unique character—deeply introspective, occasionally stubborn, and always eager to learn by doing rather than observing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 20 years, Christine Reptsik, and a home filled with cherished dogs and cats. Josh also leaves behind his parents, Debra Hempfing (née Dietz) of York, Pa., and Martin Reptsik of Felton, PA; his sister, Ketti Reptsik, and her husband, Ian Carroll, of York, Pa.; his step-sister, Angela Kessel, her husband Tim, and their children, Phoebe and Simon, of Hanover, Pa.; and his parents-in-law, Edward and Deborah Harp of Berlin. He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family and the many friends whose lives he touched.

A celebration of Josh’s life will be held at his home in Berlin on Oct. 3, 2026, and on Oct. 15, 2026, at Wyndridge Farm in Dallastown, Pa.
