(Dec. 17, 2015) Shoppers in Berlin have just a few days remaining to take part in the town’s first “Win the Window” contest, with an estimated $3,000 in total prizes available.
Ending Dec. 18, the promotion invites participants to enter to win items and gift certificates donated by businesses in the Main Street district. One ticket is earned for every $10 spent in a participating shop, with a 10-ticket limit per transaction.
“The merchants have been very supportive of the Win the Window contest, which is something new. So we would encourage folks to come down to Berlin and find out all about it,” Town Administrator Laura Allen said.
The promotion was developed by Berlin Main Street Director Ivy Wells and put together by Wells and Administrative Assistant Sharon Timmons.
“It’s an outstanding event and it’s very popular,” Timmons said. “The vendors are coming in and giving us more and more tickets. It’s going over quite well.”
Timmons estimated that the majority of the downtown merchants were participating and said that tickets do not necessarily have to be spent in the shop where they were earned.
“You can use them in any store that’s participating,” she said.
Winning tickets will be announced at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18. Winners do not need to be present to win.
