(Oct. 8, 2015) The Manklin Meadows Racquet Center expansion in Ocean Pines inched closer to completion last week, as the Worcester County Planning Commission approved the site plan as presented.
Zoning Administrator Jennifer Keener said there were no major issues during the meeting, held last Thursday in Snow Hill.
She said the next step is to obtain permits at the county level for which there is no specific timetable.
In September, Ocean Pines Association General Manager Bob Thompson told the board of directors a request for proposals from contractors would follow the site plan review and that should occur within the next few months.
The board voted 5-2 last November to approve the complex, believed to cost approximately $250,000. At the time, the plan included four platform tennis courts, eight pickleball courts, a community garden, a reorientation and rebuilding of the existing playground and improvements to the parking lot.
