Ocean Pines directors weigh in on hopes for John Bailey

(Sept. 7, 2017) With new Ocean Pines Association General Manager John Bailey officially starting work on Monday, several directors expressed their support in separate email interviews and stated their goals for his tenure.
All seven directors were asked for their input. The following responded.
Board President Doug Parks:
“I look forward to John joining the association as its general manager and the partnership we as a board can develop with him as we work towards improving the overall operation and services within the community.”
Board VP Cheryl Jacobs:
“Six of the seven current directors of the board, along with input from staff, helped select John Bailey as the general manager. As he arrives on the auspicious date of Sept. 11, it will be with solid support.
“I welcome the opportunity to turn the page with a new GM and a new board with fresh approaches to the challenges we face on projects underway, as well as any new undertakings we may tackle. The experience he brings to our community will bode well for Ocean Pines for many years to come. I am ready and anxious to provide whatever support I can to help make this a very productive and successful year.”
Director Collette Horn:
“As a new director, I look forward to meeting Mr. Bailey and learning about the experience, know-how and talents he brings to the management of our association. I have confidence in the board’s selection of him to lead our operations team.
“I am happy to be part of a new board ready to collaborate and support Mr. Bailey in addressing the many challenges we face as an association.”
Director Slobodan Trendic:
“I look forward to welcoming Mr. Bailey as the OPA’s new general manager. My expectations are that we as the board continue to show confidence in his professional skills and empower him with authority to operate as a fully functioning GM on day one.
“I am also hopeful that in the coming months Mr. Bailey’s efforts will be guided by the list of first-year expectations that have been developed. And in order to have a successful first year, I intend to work with my director-colleagues on providing Mr. Bailey with regular feedback and support. That also means that frequent evaluation of his performance should be one of the board’s top priorities.”
