OCEAN PINES – The search committee of the Ocean Pines Association has completed itsprocess to secure names for the open board of directors seats currently held by Rick Handelman, John McLaughlin and Les Purcell. 

The OPA received four applications for the board of directors. The applicants are William Wentworth, Richard Handelman, Terry Mohr and Les Purcell.

The executive secretary has verified that they are qualified based upon current eligibility requirements to run for the OPA board of directors.

Since the total number of applications received does not total two more than the number of vacancies the bylaws require the board attempt to solicit sufficient candidates to bring the total number to at least two more persons than the total number of vacancies to be filled. 

The board intends to meet its obligation of having five eligible candidates for the election by extending the deadline to June 17.
