Pines approves lease agreement with Dumser’s

(June 2, 2016) Ocean Pines Association meetings can be long, as was illustrated last Thursday when acting President Tom Terry quipped that, with him the driver’s seat, the meeting would “probably go five hours.”
That was not the case, however, as the regular meeting ran just under three hours, including a lengthy period of public comments.
A closed session afterward was even shorter, lasting less than 15 minutes.
The subject of the adjourned meeting was the Dumser’s Dairyland lease of the OPA Beach Club. Terry spoke briefly about the subject during the regular meeting, calling it, “basically just a renewal.”
“It’s just a very small [lease],” he said. “It’s a small piece of the property that they use that we have an agreement [for]. That’s all. It’s not a big deal.”
Terry said the terms of the lease were about $1,200, coming to Ocean Pines from Dumser’s.
Similarly, in March, the directors approved a renewal of a lease agreement with Seacrets that allows the nightclub to use parking spaces at the Beach Club during off hours.
