Pines financials maintain positivity

(Jan. 27, 2022) With five months remaining in its fiscal year, Ocean Pines’ bottom line continues to look good, with operations beating the budget by $1.4 million through November 2021.

General Manager John Viola and Public Works Office Manager Linda Martin reviewed financials to close November during the board meeting on Saturday.

For November, Martin reported the association closed the month $42,000 better than projected, as revenues exceeded forecast by $58,000 while expenses came in $16,000 above estimates.

Martin said the year-to-date figures through November show a net operating surplus of $1.4 million, as revenues were better than budget by $1.28 million and expenses were $133,000 less than budgeted.

Viola said Recreation and Parks closed ahead of budget by $34,000, with General Administration at $31,000 and Public Works at $30,000.

Turning to of year-to-date figures through November, Public Works lead the pack with $297,000 in budget favorability, closely followed by golf operations at $292,000, with Aquatics at $197,000, general administration at $153,000 and the yacht club at $151,000.
