(Nov. 20, 2014) The 44th annual Berlin Christmas Parade, “The Coolest Christmas Parade in America” is set for Thursday Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.
The Berlin Main Street Program is sponsoring this year’s parade event.
There will be a rain date of Thursday, Dec. 11 if needed.
The parade line-up is completely full with 85 entries. Categories for the parade include: adult, student- and school-sponsored floats, performing youth units, adult and youth marching units, vehicle clubs and motorcycles and antique cars. Trophies for first, second and third place will be awarded in each category.
In anticipation of this parade being the biggest and “Coolest” parade yet, a shuttle service will be provided to help with parking. Hooper’s Crab House and Ocean Downs have donated shuttles and drivers to the town for this event.
The shuttle route will start at Berlin Intermediate School, drop off at the corner of Main Street and William Street and then loop back around. The shuttles will begin at 5:45 p.m. and run until 7:15 p.m. and then again from 8:45 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Space on the shuttles is limited.
If interested in volunteering for this year’s parade, contact Megan Houston, 410-973-2051, JoAnn Unger, 410-641-3858, or Sharon Timmons, 410-629-1716 for more information.
