BERLIN– Registration is open for the 22nd Annual Fiddler’s Convention.
This year’s festival runs Sept. 19-21 in downtown Berlin and at the Calvin B. Taylor House Museum on 208 North Main Street.
Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen and last year’s Fiddler’s Convention winners, the Wood Pickers, play a free concert beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19 at the north end of the downtown area.
Competition takes place on Saturday, Sept. 20, at noon with musicians in Youth (15 and under) and Adult (16 and over) divisions competing in Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin and Band categories. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes are at stake, with the winning band earning a headlining slot in the 2016 Fiddler’s Convention.

The Gospel Bluegrass Jam closes the festival on Sunday, Sept. 21 at noon on the museum lawn.
The event is free and open to the public and includes vendors and family activities.
“This year’s Fiddler’s Convention will have tons and tons of completely fun free family friendly bluegrass music, arts, crafts, good times and cool people,” said organizer Nate Clendenen. “It should be a lot of fun.”
