Thousands of pounds of food have been handed out to families in need during the Stevenson United Methodist Church Spirit Kitchen drive-through food pantry at 103 Flower St. in Berlin every other Wednesday. The Spirit Kitchen was established in Feb- ruary 2011 to offer a free lunch on Wednesdays at the church, located at 123 N. Main St. in Berlin, be- tween 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, the Spirit Kitchen adapted to a con- tactless drive-through food pantry, where volunteers place bags of groceries in the trunk of vehicles.
