Stephen D. Tyler
Berlin
It is with great sadness that Stephen Daniel Tyler, affectionately known as “Styler,” passed away peacefully at age 49 on Oct. 20, 2026, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
Styler was preceded in death by his beloved parents Daniel W. Tyler and Phyllis Gronert Tyler, whom he cherished deeply and held close to his heart.
For years, Styler shared his life with his beloved partner Brittany Lord. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, challenges, and countless memories.
Their relationship was a true partnership, and the love they shared was a deeply meaningful part of both of their lives.
Styler’s love for music was unmatched. Music was not simply something he enjoyed; it was a passion and a major part of who he was. As a talented sound technician and DJ, he became a familiar and beloved presence within the music community.
Whether he was behind the soundboard, DJ booth, at a music festival, concert, or simply enjoying music alongside his friends, Styler had a special connection to music and the people who surrounded it.
He leaves behind countless friends, fellow musicians, artists, performers, and members of the music community who will remember his kindness, humor, generosity, genuine love for music, passion, unique personality, and reputation for being fashionably late to just about everything.
The friendships he formed throughout the years were meaningful and lasting, and his absence will be deeply felt by so many.
Outside of music, Styler had a passion for anything with four wheels and a motor. He loved the thrill of the road, the excitement of the ride and anything that allowed him to enjoy the moment. He also loved thrifting and the adventure of the hunt, always enjoying the possibility of finding something unique, unexpected, or one of a kind.
Bowling was another pastime he enjoyed, whether for friendly competition, fun, or simply the opportunity to spend time with others. Styler appreciated the simple pleasures in life spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, and had the genuine ability to make memories wherever he went.
One of the roles he treasured most was being an uncle to Zane and Jonah Devito. He took great joy in being a part of their lives, creating countless memories, sharing plenty of laughs, and was incredibly proud of them. The memories they created together will be cherished forever.
Though he is no longer here, the things he loved will continue to remind us of him: the music playing, the sound of engine, a great thrift store find, a festival surrounds by friends, a beautiful day outdoors, and the laughter that comes from someone who made life a little more fun. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Styler’s time with us was far too short, but the impact he made will last a lifetime. The music never really stops. It lives on in the memories, the friendships, the stories, and the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. Play it loud for Styler.
