(June 18, 2015) Nearly a week after the Bayside Gazette originally reported that Ocean Pines Association General Manager Bob Thompson was tapped by the board of directors to take over negotiations with Sandpiper Energy, the association officially confirmed the news.
A release on Monday stated, “Pursuant to the motion introduced by Director Bill Cordwell, the board went into closed session on June 3, 2015 to discuss a contractual matter pertaining to Sandpiper Energy. As a result of the closed meeting, the Ocean Pines Board of Directors directed the general manager to reopen contract discussions with Sandpiper Energy.”
Thompson, on Tuesday, said he was “excited about the opportunity to take over the lead role in an important endeavor for the Ocean Pines Association and its members.”
Previously, Thompson said, the board oversaw negotiations.
