BERLIN – Lifelong resident and former Worcester County State’s Attorney Joel Todd announced this week he’d accepted an offer from the Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew Maciarello to join the county’s prosecutorial team.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Todd said of his new position. “I always said it was the best job I ever had.”
Assistant prosecutors get to try cases but are not responsible for the political or personnel aspects of the office. After more than two decades as the Worcester County State’s Attorney Todd said it would be a welcome break.
“I don’t have to make [those] decisions any more,” he said.
Todd said he’d had several interviews around the state and competing offers but wanted to stay as close to home as possible, which is why he said he was grateful Maciarello tendered an offer.
