WILLIARDS — V. Frank Hammond, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was surrounded by his loved ones after complications from surgery.
Born January 6, 1935 he was the son of the late Clyde F. and Margaret (Maggie) Lewis Hammond. He graduated from Wi Hi class of 1953 and always enjoyed each and every class reunion. He was a life long farmer and enjoyed his time working the land he loved. He always enjoyed sharing sugar corn from his garden with everyone. He is watching over his garden this year from heaven.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Harriette; two sons, Carl and his wife Connie and Danny and his wife Pam; a daughter, Debbie Warrington; grandchildren, Rebecca Hammond, Luke Warrington, Bridget Hammond and Jessica Erving; two great grandchildren, Sean and Chase Erving; a brother, Howard C. Hammond and his wife Ruth of Salisbury; a niece and several nephews and many friends and neighbors who he loved as family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry, in 1927, who he never met until today.
A graveside service was held Saturday, June 11 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Willards. Donations in his memory may be made to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Fund, c/o JC Dennis, 6790 Friendship Rd., Pittsville, MD 21850. Arrangements were handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
