GIBSONTON, Fla. — William “Frankie” McCabe, age 69, died Saturday, May 21 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Born in Berlin, he was the son of the late William Robert McCabe and Irene Frances Timmons McCabe. Along with his mother, he was raised by his loving grandparents, Frank Quillen Timmons and Guerney Morris Timmons of Berlin.
He is survived by a son, Tim McCabe and his wife Francine, of Alphoretta, Ga., and four daughters; Ginger Davis and her husband Kirk, of Lakeland Fla., Michele Davis and her husband, Stacy of Apollo Beach, Fla., Ellen Ackerman and her husband, Bob of Chester, NJ, and Teresa McCabe of Raleigh, N.C.
He leaves eight grandchildren; Nathan Davis, Harrison Davis, Cash Davis, Aubrey and Brendan McCabe, Justin, Samantha, and Patrick Ackerman. Frankie was also survived by his Aunt Louise Jones, and cousins, Patricia Dix Klinger, Billie Rae Dix Turner, and Darrell Noble Jones.
McCabe owned and operated a barber shop in Hyattsville and later, in Florida. He also worked as a car salesman. He enjoyed playing golf, boating, fishing and watching the horse races.
A graveside service will be held on 10 a.m. August 13 at Evergreen Cemetery in Berlin. A reception following the service will be held at Bowen Methodist Church on Main Street, Newark. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to the Berlin Fire Company, N. Main St. Berlin, MD 21811. Arrangements are in the care of the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
