(April 23, 2015) With help of a grant from the Maryland Agricultural Education and Rural Development Assistance Fund administered by the Rural Maryland Council, Women Supporting Women will be offering survivors the opportunity to participate in a free healthy lifestyle class called “Cooking For the New Me!,” a series that will assist survivors and caregivers with taking control of their lifestyle choices in relation to food and nutrition.
Chris Himmel and Henriette den Ouden of Habanera Farm will lead cancer survivors and caregivers in learning about creating positive changes in their lifestyles to create healthier outcomes. The series of four weekly classes will take place at Shore Appliance Connection in Salisbury, Saturdays, April 25-May 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and at Go-Getters in Princess Anne, Thursdays, April 30-May 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will culminate with a seminar at Shore Appliance Connection by Perdue’s corporate executive chef and a food scientist.
Space is limited. Call 410-548-7880 to register.
