Thanks for fundraiser

On Sept. 25 the Worcester County Warriors Against Opiate Addiction were the proud beneficiaries of a fabulous fundraiser at Trader Lee’s Live – the first annual Rock for Recovery.
We would like to take this opportunity to personally thank a number of remarkable people. To start, Mike Chester of The Messengers who had the idea of playing for the Warriors, and then enlisted the talents of his friends the Swell Fellas and Funk-Shué. Next, Mike’s mom, Marla Robertson of 98.1 WOCM who took the idea and turned it into an amazing full day of rocking for recovery.
Then, Rod Vara of Trader Lee’s Live, who made the venue the perfect place to stage our event and even provided his wonderful staff to help make it happen. Stephen Tyler, amazing soundman, and to all of the members of The Messengers, The Swell Fellas and Funk-Shué, who brought their incredible talent to the stage and then used that talent to rock out against addiction.
Several community restaurants generously donated delicious food to round out the event: Conner’s Beach Café, Taylor’s Neighborhood Restaurant, Malia’s Café, The Big Easy on 60 and Main Street Sweets.
Our speakers who bravely told their stories: Lauren McGinnis, Matt McGinnis and Richard Dize. Our politicians for their amazing support: Sen. Jim Mathias and Del. Mary Beth Carozza.
Three photographers who used their considerable talent to capture the day in pictures: Donna Yannucci, Brady Cooling and Michael Dowler.
To Bulldog and the Rude Awakening Show on 98.1 who have been so generous in giving us airtime and support. And then some remarkable Warriors – we couldn’t have done it without Kim Poole, Mike McGrath, Tish Ottey, Donna Richards, Tina Littleton, Davina Littleton, Colleen Wareing, Kristin Langdon, Michelle DeCicco, Tracey Siegel, Ruthie Shofi, Kevin Hassett, Cheryl Hassett, Kevin Ball and Jackie Ball.
Our wonderful road Warrior, Jamie McNeeley organized and stocked much of the Chinese auction. Also, great thanks to Donna Richards.
