No insult meant with ‘Berlin Uncool’ signs
Editor,
I was very interested to read Mr. Reese Cropper III’s letter in your last edition (“Berlin Uncool signs way off base”). I suspect that when he wrote, Mr. Cropper III did not realize that the signs in question relate to the (satirical) campaign for mayor of Berlin by Mr. Purnell B. Jarvis Jr. (uncoolberlin.com).
Myself having some small bit of knowledge of the rehabilitation of buildings in downtown Berlin, not limited to personally emptying the upstairs of the Ayers and Odd Fellow’s Buildings, carrying my mother’s color cards and paint samples to and from for many years, and various other activities, and further being personally acquainted with many of the surviving members of that generation, I would like to assure Mr. Cropper III that no insult to that cohort is intended by Mr. Jarvis, Jr.’s activities and that Mr. Jarvis, Jr’s advocacy for a revitalization of local culture in fact has found the support of more than a few of them.
