Renting still a good option on Delmarva
Editor,
I live on the Delmarva Peninsula and realize our area has some of the finest home developers and real estate firms around.
What I find a little disturbing, however, is the practice by one builder-real estate developer that implies the only type of housing on Delmarva is home ownership. With home prices in the stratosphere many people, especially seniors like myself, need to rent rather than buy. Also, many seniors are not physically or financially able to maintain homes they own. I was a homeowner for many years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. However, for the above reasons, when I moved to Delmarva I chose to rent, and, after seven years, I have little or no regrets. I believe everyone has their own needs and desires and one should not be attacked for the choices he or she makes.
